Greetings Friends....Bill here,
It's been a while since I have had the opportunity to post but now that we are back in the hospital we are settling in to our regular rotation. Erin had a pretty good day and night yesterday. Just a couple minor bouts of feeling nauseous. The doctor had told us that the first few days of this chemo round would be the "honeymoon" phase and that she should get out as much as possible while she is feeling good and her counts are still up. So Erin and Janet walked to the gift shop yesterday morning and then sat outside for a little bit until the heat got to be too much for them. In the afternoon we got word that our favorite room on the floor had been vacated and we could move if we wanted. Of course we had to move! Most of you know that we do not travel light and I must say we have become quite adept at moving the Erin show in a hurry. So we have landed in room E818 which is quite spacious and offers a much better view. Yesterday Erin and her entourage (sisters, Mom, friend Melanie) all completed 2 miles (42 laps)!!! Woohoo!! Our new doctor has set a higher goal for Erin to do 2 miles each day. To keep it interesting, they did different events on each lap such as Charlie's Angels (where you crouch and sneek from nook to nook), basketball drills, hokie pokie, swim strokes, football referee signals, moonwalk, walking like jello, jellyfishes and octopusses...well you get the idea. Erin got sad when Laura had to leave to go back to UGA for the fall semester. I know she really misses her when she is gone. I think this is a tough time for Erin as summer winds down (not exactly the summer she had planned for) and school starts up and she is missing going back to work.
Today Erin started the new chemo drug, Cyclophosphamide, which she gets for an hour today and again tomorrow. This is the one that can be very rough on your bladder, heart, and liver and so they keep her on fluids to help flush the chemo out of her system. Please continue to pray for no side effects from the chemo. This afternoon will be the last dose of Busulfan, so that's a praise.
"And Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of disease and all manner of sickness. " - Matthew 9:35
Thanks to all of you for your continued thoughts and prayers for Erin! You are a constant source of encouragement and strength for us and we know God is listening!
Blessings......Bill

Erin - the halls of the Ridge are a drag without your beautiful smile and happy demeanor.....my prayers continue to be that you weather this lousy storm, beat this demon and return to us as soon as is possible. The Lion DOES triumph in all cases.
We love you !

Thanks to the Blonshines for keeping us "in the loop" and giving us a small idea of what you are going through.
Maybe walking would be more interesting for me if I worked out with the Blonshine girls.

We are impressed and proud of the 2 mile walks, and feel sure that they are 'super powered' with all those variations!
Praying for you every day!

Hello Miss Erin,
After the youth mission trip to New Orleans you now have kids and adults from Canada, Pittsburgh and of course, New Orleans praying for you. Wish you could have been with us at the Wednesday night service in downtown New Orleans at the Greater Antioch, The City of Love, Full Gospel Baptist Church, where "The Worship is Intense, The Love is Immense, and The Word Will Make Sense". Pastor Fran Love led a sermon on Faith versus Fear. She reminded us that the Devil gives fear and God gives us faith. Where Faith is, Fear isn't. She also had some thoughts on how to run the Devil off.
Personally, I hold the Devil responsible for your illness and am all in favor of running him and this illness away. You beat him once and will do so again. That's when you yell, as taught by Sister Fran, "Now What Devil".
All Our Love and Prayers!

I will edit my prayers and add that to the list. Getting ready for operation "Lets get it over! Whowaa! Hey girl, its being a while since I blogged, but not since I prayed for you. Me and God keep discussing you. He asked me if you could be in his small group and I told him I was not in charge of that any more, but I would see what I could do. Keep your chin up. I have faith, that mountain is going swimming.
In Christ's Love,
Mr Hanley
Matthew 21:21-22
"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him."
Isn't just like Jesus to so flip our days upside down that we have to pay attention? The blogs that you all write are expressions of your heart and all that your family are going through. There is pain, confusion, and frustration. But, because of your wonderful messages (that help you to sort out your emotions), the rest of us are so blessed! I often feel guilty because I am so empowered and consoled by the wisdom and message that God has given you through your circumstances! But, isn't that the way He works?
May God continue to bless you all as Erin takes on this fight, again. We are reminded that when we talk to God about our problems, He can arrange for far more warriors to help in the battle than we can even imagine on our own! You're right--He even plans ahead! (Totally new concept for some of us!)
So, as Ken has told you about the New Orleans preacher, we can say "Now what, Devil?" We stand as a united team, equipped with prayer, love, and compassion, to lift Erin high above the lower levels of languishing to her victory stand! PRAISE GOD!
We continue to pray daily--

Hi Blonshines,
God had me praying for all of you at 4:00 this morning...what a great feeling to get to do something on the Almighty's "to do" list. I hope you have a great day that brings you one step closer to healing.
