update for Tues
Well, the Dr came at last and told us there is still some Leukemia in the marrow. The majority are good cells but there are still some aberant cells. He is encouraged by the fact that she hasn't gotten any infections and is willing to bend the rules for her a bit so she can go home even if her ANC doesn't get to 500. He said one day this week. She will have the next biopsy next week in the clinic. He said about 50% of people go into remission with the first round of chemo. So apparently Erin really needs that second round to kick the Leukemia completely. After the second round they will determine if she needs the transplant. Please pray that she doesn't need that. She seemed to take the news well and is just looking forward to going home. Thanks again for all your prayers, please keep praying, we need every minute of it. Erin walked 2, yes I said TWO miles yesterday!! Today she got one mile in after her blood transfusion. So you see she feels well we just can't get the numbers to agree with her energy level. God knows the answers and the future and in good time, we will all be able to say, Ah-Ha, that's what He was doing. Cool, can't wait. love you , janet

Erin & Family,
We are so happy to hear the doctor is willing to bend the rules and let you go home!! I know the angels must have been relentless in flapping their wings in the doc's face and he finally just had to surrender. Go, Angels and Praise God! Praise also for no infections, the energy to walk 2 miles yesterday and one mile today, and for keeping your head up about your upcoming treatment. You have such a beautiful and courageous spirit (all of you "Blondies").
We will keep praying, each and every day. If there is anything you need to get done to prepare for Erin's homecoming (or anytime), please let us know (can clean, shop, cook, alert the media, fend off the paparazzi, or whatever is necessary)!
Love, hugs and blessings,

Erin, you don't know me, but Susan Simpson is a friend of mine and she shared with me a little of your story. I am a leukemia survivor of 3 years. In October, 2004, I had a bone marrow transplant and, yes, there is life after leukemia. In fact, I was in the room that you are currently in during one of my long stays at Emory. Drs. Winton and Hefner were my first doctors and Dr. Langston was my transplant doc. I see her yearly now. I've been through 10 or 11 bone marrow tests now (and, Lord willing, only have two left until I am considered cured), as well as numerous other things, but God brought me through it all for His glory. Please know that I will be praying for you and truly do know what you are going through. I would love to talk to you or even come down for a visit if you would like me to. I definitely know the way to Emory. My cell number is 770-362-4657. Please call me at any time. Judy
YEAH 2 Miles thats awesome! I am so happy that you are going to be able to go home. It is so much easier to get rest in your own home! Please continue to keep us informed!
Lots of Love and Prayers!
Erin
YAY for 2 miles!!! That is awesome!!
Love you,
Jennifer
A big smile and behaving yourself go a long way! I doubt the doctors would bend the rules for just anyone! I hope you enjoy your parole. Great job on the 2 miles! I can't say that I have done it every morning, but you sure have inspired me to be more consistent in my walking. Keep up the good work! We continue to pray for you and the rest of your "team". I think that the nurses are having such a good time with your family that they are manipulating those numbers just to keep your crew around! I wouldn't blame them! Wish I could come see you, but know that we send you big hugs! I am living with three little "walking petri dishes"! You take care of each other and keep smiling!
Much love,
Kristie Chamlee
Erin and Blonshines- It was great to hear that you will get to spend some time at home! I pray that it will be a truly refreshing time. Erin- you are absolutely awesome for walking those two miles. Praise God for your energy and determination!
Mrs. Blonshine, Many of your posts reminded me of this hymn we sang in church a couple of weeks ago. It's a favorite of mine and beautiful. Basically, it's praising God, who we may not always be able to understand but his wisdom and magnificence cannot be denied...
Immortal, Invisible God Only Wise
Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes, Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, Almighty victorious, Thy great name we praise.
Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light, Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might; Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above, Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.
To all, life givest, to both great and small; In all life Thou livest, the true life of all; We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree, And wither and perish-but naught changeth Thee.
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light, Thine angels adore Thee, All veiling their sight; All praise we would render; Oh help us to see 'Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee!
Love, Brittany

GO, ERIN; GO, ERIN! Two miles! WOO-HOO! He DID set you feet on solid ground!
I love you kiddo, and so eager for you to be home on your birthday...all of us "Abe Lincoln babies" have to stick together...(no comments from you, Marty, about how I'm 4 hours older than you!)
Psalm 40:1-3
I waited patiently for the Lord to help me,and he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire.
He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.
He has given me a new song to sing,a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.
XXXXs & 00000s around,
Ms. Susan : )
