Hello Prayer Warriors,
They started Erin's chemo last evening around 7 and premedicated her with one of the few antiemetics she isn't yet allergic to. Zofran is wonderful but it is an uphill battle with the kind of nausea chemo produces. She got sick in the middle of the night a couple of times. Compound that with the left over soreness from her bone marrow biopsy (she says that lasts 8 days) and the central line soreness which had turned her into a pretzel and she was pretty pitiful last night. We called Laura because she is studying athletic training and got instructions for taking the kink out of Erin's neck. She tried hard but every few minutes her head would lean over and her shoulder would come up and pretty soon she looked like a pretzel again. Amanda stood in front of her and mirrored her so they could slowing unkink Erin. It was giggle time for sure. Our family's penchant for hysteria in serious situations is the only thing that keeps us sane, Or maybe it is a precursor to insanity.... David Still can testify to my ability to giggle when someone breaks a rib!! Praise God for laughter!!
Please pray for no nausea, an unkinked shoulder, no infections and a healthy donor. Thanks for all the lovely comments. It keeps us going.
"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful."
Hebrews 10:23

Looking back on the hospital say with my own DD I can truly understand how important it is to feel the prayers and encouragement from that support network. My laptop was truly my link to the outside world for those few days we were in the hospital.
You were all in my prayers this morning and will continue to be for the duration.
Blessings
Robin
Continuing to pray for tummies, soreness and kinkedness. Sorry Erin - I'm a math teacher - I make up words on a regular basis.
And praying for moms (Janet) who give so much of themselves.
Oh and thinking of Amanda always makes me laugh. Doesn't matter what she is doing :)
Your laughter comes from God. What an awesome gift in an otherwise pitiful time. Your retelling of your hysterics makes us readers smile:)
I am praying for you, Erin. Praying that your body is on the train to remission! Praying that you feel minimal discomfort from all of the chemo related yuckiness. I'm praying that you keep laughing!
I am so proud of every one of you.

Oh how I know the pain of muscle spasms in the neck and back!!!...Bless your heart!!!....Stand strong loved ones....first steps back into the lions den are difficult...but stand strong...we know that your hearts and minds are strong...knowing the strength that you find in the LORD...knowing the depths of which you love HIM........LORD, Father, bless them this morning...as they take these steps back into the foray....LORD, surround them with knowledgeable people,, who know just what to do to help with each and every pain as it shows itself....LORD, we know that pain comes with this time....and Father, we just ask that as YOU carry Erin through the pain, that YOUR mighty hands lessen it to a tolerable level...we know that she is strong in YOU...we know that she can face any thing to come with YOU.....Father, bless her with SONshine and giggles....that her mind may concentrate on those things, rather than the pains......LORD, continue to surround this precious family....hold them as tightly as we all wish we could hold them during this time........give them extra squeezes from all of us......IN JESUS' NAME.................AMEN........
Erin you are in my prayers. I know how strong you are and know that you and your family will pull through this. I love you!

Hi Erin and family. You are on my mind every second. I am teaching summer school and each morning, my class (which includes several PRHS students), have a long moment of prayer and healing silence for you. And not just healing, but comfort, and infection free treatment so that we can be back to giggling in the parking lot and hallways before you know it. If you need anything, your PRHS family will be on it immediately! Your faith and strength inspire me beyond words! Love you!

Well my friends, giggles are good and scriptural, too! Proverbs 17:22 (The Message) says: "A cheerful disposition is good for your health; gloom and doom leave you bone tired." So we'll pray for God to multiply your laughter as you love and encourage each other through this ordeal. Keeping you in our prayers.
Blessings and peace,
Dorothy
I love laughter. Our family is like yours, we tend to sometimes laugh during serious situations, I remember when I broke my arm and ankle, the first reaction my family had was to laugh... Laughter is good for the soul! I am praying for you Erin! Nehemiah 8:10 - The joy of the Lord is your strength... Love you!
Erin!
I wanted to let you know that the Blessing-Moore-Butts team is officially back in action. :) we are anxious to make a visit to you as soon as you are up to it. We are sending all kinds of love your way and constantly praying for you. You are such a strong person- I know you can beat this. Keep marching forward and keep laughing.
I love you!
