Feeling Better!

Hey Ya'll..... Bill here,

After 4 pretty rough days, the doctor prescibed a dose of steroids yesterday and shortly afterward, Erin was up and eating breakfast! She walked her mile yesterday, played games with the family and visited with friends. Erin rediscovered her taste for fruit smoothies and Grandmommy and Aunty Jo had the great idea to get a single serving smoothie maker so that Erin can have a smoothie whenever she wants and I don't have to run all over the place trying to find one! After crossing the line with the fridge in the room, what's one more illegal device, right?? Yesterday evening, Jo brought a great meal and we had eight of us in this tiny little room all enjoying the great food. This morning Erin had a bagel and smoothie for breakfast followed by leftovers from yesterday's dinner. She definitely got her appetite back and we are thankful for answered prayers!!

Last night was my second stay with Erin and I thought I had done my job well and that we had a quiet evening.....evidently, I had a quiet evening but Erin did not. While she was feeling better, there were constant hourly interruptions and she did not get much rest. In addition, she said I was snoring and unresponsive when she tried to wake me....I think she is putting me on double secret probation and that I better shape up or she is going to bench me. I figured I better share this with you lest you hear it from someone else:))

"So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer." - Ezra 8:23

Thank you all for your continued prayer support! Our prayer request is that Erin will continue to feel better, for the perfect bone marrow donor match for Erin, and for a miracle of healing for her.

Blessings..... - Bill

We are glad you were feeling so much better yesterday. Great idea with the single serving smoothing maker!!! Lots of vitamins and minerals to keep up your strength. Erin, as far as the snoring goes, try throwing something at your dad so you don't have to get up. I've found it quite useful over the years! :)

Dixie & Brad still keeping up our daily prayers for you!!

I praise God that today is a better day and the appetite is back. Perhaps some fattening girl scout cookies? I save a few boxes for whenever...

And I suggest throwing ice water on your dad to wake him as well as stopping the snoring. It works everytime that Cori can't get me up in the night.

Please know that the prayers are often and many. I can't wait to rejoice with you and your family when the healing is complete. In Christ Love, Tracy Bishop

Glad to know that you are feeling better and that you are eating! I'm sorry to report I have no advice for dealing with a snoring person. I try to be kind (I know hard to imagine) and tell Pete I love him, BUT I would love him more if he rolled over to sleep, so could he please do that. His response lately is a firm NO! something he claims not to remember in the morning...Yeah right!

Thinking of you and praying for you daily.

Our love always,
The Knapik's

Fruit smoothies - yum! So glad to hear nausea has subsided and appetite has returned. "How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!" (Psalm 119:103) As for Mr. Bill and his snoring and unresponsiveness, I'll betcha he didn't wake up during those night feedings when you were a baby, either!! His heart's in the right place though, so cut him some slack! We will continue to pray for "smooth" days ahead, the perfect bone marrow match and complete and total healing.

Blessings and peace,
The Harden's

I am hoping to come visit this week. Obviously I will make sure that is okay that day. I know I promised some awesome 90's films so I hope you have a VHS cause I don't own Free Willy or Camp Nowhere on DVD : )

I'm Praying and Sending my love-

Meredith

And don't worry- the paper chain is coming!!

Hey there Erin!!!

Yeah for steroids! And for fruit smoothies too! Whenever I have been on steroids, it has made me feel like Super Woman...hope that happens to you too! Just wondering---if your bone marrow donor is a male, will you start growing hair on your chest? haaa! Just kidding!

Love ya in a big way!
Linda

I think I'm becoming co-dependent! When you are feeling good, then so do I. You've made my day, now that I see you're having a good day :)
Love ya bunches! Aunt Debbie
P.S.
You never get used to the snoring! The trick is to fall asleep before your Dad does. This works for me and no one snores louder than your Uncle Ron!

Bill, that's a sound sleeper! That's some serious talent there. Have you tried those nose thingies that are supposed to help? If they don't have any, I'm sure the nurses can fix you up with some bandage tape...won't hurt a bit!

Yay for a good appetite! Love you all,
Vicki and David

I'm so glad those steroids helped you to feel better and enjoy some food, games and your family. I am praying that you get a good night's rest tonight. I know that's rough with them coming in every hour or so.

It's taking me quite a while to write this message, because Will and I got a kitten the other day, and she keeps jumping up onto my key board. She must want to say hello too!

We are thinking of you and praying for you, Erin!

Love, Will and Brittany

So, after reading about the smoothie machine, I'm thinking you could start a little "smoothie stand" right from your room at the hospital. You could make a little cash and have more visitors all at the same time!

So while you're hangin' out, try and come up with a name for your new business and I will design you a logo. (I don't think anything rhymes with smoothie, but there must be a good name out there...anyway got any ideas?)

Keep up the fight, sweet Erin! Love you and are praying for you,
