step one

Well, Erin just got back from having her central line placed. She came through it just great and is sleeping off the "good" drugs now. They plan to start the chemo after lunch. As much as we all dread the chemo for her, the sooner we get started, the sooner we will be done. Hallelujah!

A couple of people have asked about getting on the bone marrow registry. It is free in June and easy to do. Go to marrow.org and they will mail you a swab kit. It is just a swab of the inside of your cheek. Painless. Mail it back and you are in. What a blessing to give that gift!! Thanks to all already on the list and those considering it. Maybe one of you will be the chosen one and you can be "blood brothers" with Erin.

blessings, janet

Hey Erin,
So, I was thinking, there's no way around it - this whole situation freakin' sucks (you're allowed to say 'freakin' and 'sucks' when you're talking about cancer), BUT...think of it this way: you will definitely get to pick where we all go on vacation next summer! After this whole ordeal, everyone else's votes will definitely be null and void. I know that doesn't make it worth all this, but it's just a sliver of silver-lining if you really wanna see it. :-) Hope you're enjoying your drugged nap - I wish I could take one of those right now!!! hehe :-)

We are hoping and praying that this round of chemo will be easier for you. You are feeling so much better and stronger than you were when you started last time, we hope that makes a difference.

We love you, think of you and pray for you constantly.

Erin,
Don't know if you remember me. I taught you physics at Dacula. What a great student you were. I am so glad you became a teacher!
My heart was broken yesterday when Terry Reonas told me your situation. Through my church, I registered on the Bone Marrow list a few weeks ago. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Janet,
I am glad you posted the information on the marrow.org website. Years ago I looked into donating and it was a lot more complicated than it is today. We will check it out. Hopefully with all of your friends and family a compatible donor will be found very soon. Good luck! We are keeping you All in our prayers!
Erin, you are such a trooper. You are such an inspiration to us all!
