Round 4: 2 Days Down - 4 days to Go

Good morning dear friends....Bill here,

Erin has been experiencing bouts of pain and nausea that come and go. The meds seem to work for a couple hours and then wear off before the next scheduled dose. I have learned that each round of chemo is different in terms of side effects and effective meds and there is an art to finding the right combination of meds, dosages, and intervals to try to keep Erin somewhat comfortable. The med that seems to alleviate the discomfort the best right now also makes her sleepy...but at this point sleepy seems to be an acceptable alternative to pain. Erin was able to get a mile in yesterday so that is a praise!

This round of chemo is comprised of hi-dose Cytarabine administered over a 2 hour period every 12 hours on days 1-4. Erin has had this in prior rounds. A new chemical, Mitoxantrone, that she has not had before is administered once a day on days 3-6. Our prayer today is that there will be no additional severe reactions or side effects with the introduction of this new chemical, for clean results from the spinal tap, and for Erin's complete healing. We praise God that he is a God of love, grace, mercy, miracles, and healing.

Blessings,

Bill

Good Morning Blonshines! We're praying hard for Ms. Erin! So proud of all of her hard work. Those miles are sometimes difficult for those of us who have no excuses! You have a legitimate excuse and yet you complete them anyway...and skipping nonetheless! You're just showing off now! Hey, I know about the constant balancing act with meds... give Luke too much insulin and he goes low (62 when he just now checked) and too little and he goes high... all I can say is thank God for the gift of meds that can do His healing work! Keep up the hard work girl; we're proud of you!!!
Love to all,
Kristie

Blonshines:

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.Corinthians 15:57(KJV)

This round is just another step towards the Victory Lap that Erin will be running when its all said and done and we will all be there to offer up our high fives and hugs!

"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:22-24 (NIV)

Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.Psalm 37:3-5 (KJV)

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Prov 3:5-6 (KJV)

Just a few scripture readings to get you through the weekend!

Praying for continued faith and trust in the Lord. Praying for rest and comfort and that the nausea and pain subside. Praying that your endurance and strength sustains for the next 4 days and beyond!

Blessings and Grace,
The Cotner's

Hi ya'll! Missed you yesterday. We were traumatized by Gwinnett traffic...took us 2 hours to get from graduation at the arena to Grayson for our niece's party. I'm sure if Erin and Amanda had been doing their mile outside on Sugarloaf Pkwy they would have skipped right on by us!!! But we eventually made it back home. We may not leave again for days.

That will give us plenty of time to pray for Erin to feel good and heal with few side effects. God will take care of her we know.

Love always, The Stills

Skipping is so fun. Way to make those doctors and nurses turn their heads:)

I pray for complete healing and for no crazy (and minimal) side effects.

I pray that you experience rest and good dreams as you doze through the pain.

God, keep supplying Erin with courage and smiles throughout this continuing journey. Give her what she needs to get through.

Love, Brittany
