Hello prayer warriors, thank you for keeping the vigil. Erin is still in need of prayer. We spent the last week at the lake and had a great time except for the fact that Erin couldn't get wet. She was a good sport and sat on the dock to talk to us, drove the boat and played all the corny family games we love so much. She never complained that her vacation was not what she hoped for. Unfortunately we had to return to Emory 3 times over the week. She needed platelets Monday and Today and she needed blood on Wednesday. So the vacation was pretty broken up because going to Emory takes all day. We tried to go to the little local hospital in Clayton but the Drs at Emory didn't want her to get transfused anywhere except Emory, so it didn't save us any time. She has several large bruises on her from "whatever", they were probably minor bumps that grew large due to the lack of platelets. All in all she feels well, just very tired. The big bummer right now is that she can't go to Campmeeting, unless her numbers skyrocket. And school is only a couple of weeks away and she needs to be recovered by then. So please pray for numbers and energy. Thank you again for your continued perseverance on Erin's behalf. She is so blessed to have such a fantastic team of believers rooting for her. We all are grateful for all of you!! love, janet

Your classroom and your new roommate are anxiously awaiting your return to PRHS! You are always on my mind and in my prayers! You WILL join me very soon as we face the new school year and a gazillion little freshmen! Hang tough little DAWG - you're almost there!

this was too long of a wait!
i'm afraid i'm experiencing mrs. janet's blog withdrawls.. i was telling erin earlier- you should just write about your day when this is all over.
anything is better than nothing!!!
Dear Janet,
Thank you for the update. We continue to pray for good numbers, a speedy recovery, renewed strength and a great school year.
Take it from a former high school teacher. The first couple of weeks of any school year are exhausting for students and teachers alike.
Love and prayers,
Florence
Sorry you had so many trips to Emory during your long awaited week at the lake but I know you eeked every bit of fun out of it there was to have!!! We will keep praying for Erin's numbers to rise and for her strength and energy to return so that she is ready to start school. We love you!

As I face my surgery date -- 2 days away! Erin is close in my thoughts and prayers as well as my heart as it is through Erin that I am drawing my strength and courage to face this difficult surgery.
We are continuing to pray for strong numbers, a speedy recovery, a renewed sense of energy, and that things stay on schedule for the next couple of weeks. I bet those kids cannot wait to see what Ms. Blonshine has in store for them during the school year ---
I will be out of the social circle for 6 weeks but look forward to catching up with Erin via the blog once I get home which should be within 5-7 days after the surgery and am able to sit at the computer as I will have several staples in me for two weeks but once they are out I will be visiting the blog and posting. I just hope during that time that nothing too eventful occurs.
Blessings & Prayers Always,
The Cotner's
continuing to pray!
I know you are disappointed (and so are we). Give your body the time it needs (I know easier said than done), and we will see you soon!
Hey Erin -
So I met the coolest high school kid ever yesterday. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma several years ago, underwent chemo, and conquered it. He had a tatoo of roman numerals on his arm: XX111XL1X (23-41-10)which stood for Isaiah 41:10 (23rd book of the Bible) which says: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." So I'm telling you this because it's a cool story, uplifting verse, and I think you should get a tattoo when this is all over! :-) I'm sure I can get Aunt Janet totally on board ;-) hehe. Love you guys!! - Jenny Woodward
