Hello Prayer Warriors,
Thanks for the prayers. We have many things to be thankful for this week. Erin found a lump on her hip on Friday that gave us a scare. As you may recall, Friday was icy in Atlanta. When we called about the lump and described it to them, they said not to come in because of the roads and unless the lump got bigger, it should be fine to wait until today. So we tried to put it out of our minds for the last 6 days, but you know how your subconscious still works on things. Anyway, the Dr checked it out and said she didn't think it was anything to worry about. We just have to watch it for any change. So that is our first praise and prayer concern. Another praise is that Erin's liver enzymes were slightly lower today. They are still not quite normal, but they are trending that way. One thing we still need prayers for is Erin's prograf level. The Dr called last week after our visit and told us her level is still too low to be therapeutic. They started Erin back on Posiconizole (her least favorite med) to help increase the prograf level and it has been hurting her stomach. We are still waiting to hear about today's prograf level. Please pray her GVH goes away quickly so she can get off of the steroids and other meds that are giving her nasty side effects like insomnia, a little rage (and by the way, rage is catchy), and stomach pain. The Dr said today it may be months before she can stop them.
Another blessing was that we got to visit the mother of an old friend who is currently going through AML treatment. Her transplant is this Friday. While we were there, one of the nurses grabbed Erin to encourage an 18 year old girl who just had a transplant today. Erin's bright smile and great attitude were a blessing to at least 2 patients and a bunch of nurses today. Of course, when you think you are blessing others, you end up receiving more blessing yourself. That's how God's love multiplies! It's beyond our comprehension. We are thankful to be on the other side of that experience and be able to help others. And as always, we are thankful for all of you! Blessings! janet

Hey Girl, I'm so glad to hear you were able to visit some other patients in the beginning of their adventure. You are just the person they need to see--especially with that fabulous smile of yours. We will continue to pray for improved levels so as to get rid of the meds. Those nasty steroids really do a number on you. Know that you are loved all the way through this ordeal--even the ugly parts. You continue to be such an inspiration to so many. Hope today is a "good" day for you!

Hey, Erin, if the steroids make you grow two sets of teeth and your head spin around, can you post a picture of that?
Thanks for the update and info on what to focus our prayers on. We are really happy about the good news you got and know that Erin was LIGHT to the patients who got to meet her.

Hi Erin, We just wanted to say hey and that we were glad that you had good news at the clinic.Not sure which is worse- steroids or posi. Megan is about to eat us out of house and home! Keep up the good work! Megan and Margaret
Thank you for your transparency as you allow us to share your journey and pray for you. You are a blessing to all of us and those who are on the same journey as you. I too suffer roid-rage (back pain) and have the name of a good sheetrocker if you need one. I'll keep praying. God bless! The Bishops
Reading the blog I'm reminded of God's word that says "all things come together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose". Erin, you have touched, inspired and continue to encourage so many people! I believe you being able to help & encourage others going through the same thing, is some of the good that has come from all that you've been through. I'll continue to pray for better levels and less side effects. Love ya bunches!
