Merry Christmas Prayer Warriors,
I know it has been a long wait since our last conversation. This weekly update was hard for me to wait on too. We just got back from the clinic and they told Erin she has Graft vs. Host. She is itchy but no rash and her mouth is sensitive and dry. The real tell tale sign was that her liver enzymes are up. Graft vs Host on a small scale is not a bad thing because that means she is also getting graft vs. leukemia which is the whole point of having a transplant. Basically, since her liver sustained a "trauma" during her bout of VOD back in aug/sept, it has been trying to recover slowly. In the meantime, it hasn't been metabolizing her immunosuppressant drug very quickly. so they had her on a very small dose. Now that her liver is starting to recover, it is metabolizing her medicine faster and so the level has dropped enough to stir up the GVH response. All that to say, they are putting her on steroids and doubling her immunosuppressant to get everything stabilized for now. Of course, any news like this is hard to understand and have to deal with 2 days before Christmas. We praise God that He is in control as always!!! Please pray for Erin's liver to recover and do what it is supposed to do. Also please pray that Erin shakes off this news and is ready to Rock and Roll for Christmas! We also ask you to pray for our friend Megan who is also suffering from GVH at this time. Thanks as always for the prayers. We pray that you all have a blessed Christmas! love, janet
"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." Luke 2:8-14

I'll be praying for relief from symptoms and for a wonderful Christmas celebration for you all.
Love, Brittany
Merry Christmas Erin and Family! God gave you the best gift ever this year, when your bone marrow biopsy came back negative! I'll keep praying that all the rest is "just details" and we know that God is in the details. :) Love you all!
Do hope all the Blonshines had a wonderful Christmas together and are basking in God's glory with Erin home and continuing to recover. You are always in our prayers but will specifically pray for Erin's liver and everything to get back to "normal" (I'm sure you don't even know what that IS anymore, but to help you remember, it's just a boring day of getting up, going to work, dinner, maybe a little TV, some prayer and sleep, and then do it all over again.) I know you all could handle a few boring days, couldn't you? So here's wishing all of you a quite boring, healthy and happy 2010! Love you guys,
The Petersons
We remain steadfast on the prayers for Erin and will be specific about her liver healing.
Hope you Christmas Day was wonderful.
Much love,
The Stills
Hmm, Erin's itchy twitchy has made me think of famous Itch phrases in history (sometimes letters such as B, R, S or W are missing):
7 year itch (ohhh, noooooo!)
an itch in time
crazy itch
filthy itch
if I were an itch man
if you’re so smart, why aren’t you itch?
itch burning
itch craft
itch doctor
itch hunt
itch in heat
itch man’s wife
itch me up, doc
Itching hour
itchy woman
Race to itch mountain
season of the itch
she such an itch!
swamp itch
the good itch Glinda
the good itch of the north
the wicked itch of the West
white itch
and finally, the one you’re waiting for:
ding dong the itch is dead
are you groaning yet?
we continue to pray for Erin and the entire Blonshine family.....y'all have come too far and fought too hard to let this set back count for anything. We pray that her liver gets healthier and her spirits soar.
We are still here for you.
Kimberly, Mackenzie and Joe
